Dangerous Boys Distillery is a nano-distillery making bold, small-batch spirits entirely from maple. What started as an experiment turned into a full time passion. It doesn’t hurt that it keeps me busy and out of the house.

Our Story

Maple is the whole point

We built Dangerous Boys Distillery around one ingredient: maple. Not as an add in flavoring ingredient, but as the foundation. Our entire process is geared towards maximizing the usage of our organic sugarbush. By utilizing the water from the sap to proof our spirits the content of our bottles is nearly 100% from the trees. This makes us the only truly agricultural distillery in Vermont.

The Distillery

It all starts in the woods where we tap our trees

We use the reverse osmosis to extract the water from the sap and store it in the tank in the background

We dilute the maple syrup back down to 20-30% sugar and ferment it for several weeks

Our first pass distillation in our pot still reduces 40 gallons of wort to about 11 gallons of first pass spirit

Our reflux still takes the first pass spirit to a neutral spirit, it leaves the still at a minimum of 190 proof
