Answers for curious drinkers
From what goes into the bottle to how to find it, here are the questions we hear most often.
We are the only distillery, known to us, that only uses alcohol that is created from fermented maple syrup for all of our products. We are also the only distillery that uses the water from the sap to proof our spirits, so nearly 100% of the bottle contents originated in a Vermont maple tree. You can taste the difference.
During the sugaring season we extract water from the sap and store it for proofing later. We then truck the remaining concentrate (the sugar portion of the sap) to a partner sugarhouse and receive the maple syrup back in barrels. The maple syrup stores well and will not spoil like sap would. We then dilute the syrup down to a level where the yeast can ferment it and that creates all of our base alcohol.
Many people say they can taste the maple in the vodka, it definitely has a distinctly sweet taste but every pallet is different. The ouzo does have a small amount of maple syrup added after the distillation process, so there is definitely a sweetness to be tasted.

Store bottles upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, keep the cork sealed tightly to preserve aroma and flavor. Avoid prolonged exposure to extremely hot conditions, like a car in direct sunlight.
Yes, however, I am often at a market or in the woods working so please reach out first. If the small sign is out by Route 15 then I am in the distillery so please stop in.

The Dangerous Boys is a group of friends that worked together off and on over the years, originally starting at a local software company IDX Systems Corporation. A wife of one of the guys nicknamed the group the Dangerous Boys because of the dumb things we did/do together.
My brother designed the logo from an image he found online that he thought looked like me as a kid. My mom also tells a story of coming out of the bathroom when we were kids, me 2 or 3 leaning on his back when he was 5 or 6, and catching us just before the screwdriver went into the outlet. So poor choices may be genetic.
